Next-Gen Security Architecture
RoomOff adds application-layer text encryption on top of browser WebRTC transport, uses volatile room keys, and clearly marks which protections are browser-enforced and which are best-effort interface defenses.
Text messages use volatile room keys, ephemeral peer handshakes and per-message ratcheting before they enter the WebRTC data channel. Browser media remains protected by WebRTC DTLS/SRTP.
RoomOff avoids key persistence, zeroizes byte buffers it controls, and minimizes how long sensitive text stays rendered. Browser internals may still keep temporary copies outside app control.
Highly sensitive messages can be configured to only reveal themselves under active, continuous user pressure. Release the button, and the text vanishes instantly from screen and memory.
RoomOff adds best-effort warnings for screen sharing and suspicious debugging pauses. Browsers cannot reliably identify every recorder or remote access tool.
